Red Sox vs. Yankees: Where blowing 9 run leads happens
After posting about the weekend Sox/Yanks match up, I decided I might as well watch the game. The Sox were steadily putting up runs, while shutting out the Yankees lineup the first half of the game. I developed a false sense of security, and decided to go over to a friends house where they would surely not be watching Baseball, but 9-0 means the game is basically over right? Apparently the Red Sox also suffered from the same complacency that I experienced. After Cody Ross blasted a majestic home-run over the center-field wall to put the Sox up 9-0, the seventh inning happened. The Red Sox proceeded to give up 7 runs in each of the next two innings, marking one of the biggest collapses in a single game for them since the 1980s. The final score was 15-9, the Yankees victorious. One lesson learned, aside from that the Red Sox suck this year, is that in Baseball it's truly never over, until it's over. Because the game has no clock; is not based on time, incredible come-backs are always a possibility. The 3rd game of the Sox/Yanks series was scheduled for last night but was rained out. I'm sure the Sox are glad, they need some time to get their shit together.
